any one have a problem with the other version where it freezes up after a while and crashes. Also I crash every time I try to add keybinds

For some reason, when I try to open Veadotube it just freezes into a white screen without being able to use it.
Does anyone may know why?

So i have a problem with a file that i can't load it in
It said it need and veadotube type of file but i have only .PNG
So i don't know how to get that type of file some know how to?
If 2.0 is anything like 1.4, you're trying to load a whole avatar. To add your pngs to it, you have to click on the states themselves, then on which part of it you'll use (open/closed eyes/mouth) and that should open a window for you to load your image. If that doesn't work, then try clicking the pencil to edit its properties.

I think 2.0 might have a memory leak problem somewhere.
I have a few different .veado and .veadotube files I can load.
If I start the program fresh and load one, I observe around 900MB of memory usage.
If I switch to another one, the usage is about the same - so far so good. But if I switch back to the first one again, or continue a few more times the memory usage will quickly skyrocket, I saw it get as high as 9GB before triggering a TDR on my system (this is about the limit of what I had free based on other things running).
Spout capture in OBS using 'premultiplied alpha' also seems to have a small regression from 1.4, I get a hazy white background that appears partially transparent. Using default or 'converted premultiplied alpha (legacy)' works fine.
Loading the same file in 1.4 doesn't have the same issue with 'premultiplied alpha' using Spout.
the memory leak has been found and will be fixed in 2.0a :]

so i have a problem while streaming games like Content Warning the app freezes my cpu use is good like 13% while playing whit obs and veadotube mini and my memory is doing well so i dont know what is happening help
thank you so much for all your hard work on 2.0! 🩷 i'm happy to report i've had zero issues these last 48 hours. i didn't expect it to carry over all of my 1.4 items so seamlessly, and i made sure to save copies of my lightweight png .veadotube files to the new .veado ones. i'm so happy you can name the states and set movement per frame - lifesaver. i also had to toggle the background for it to get transparent in OBS again since i used spout before.
my favorite part of this update is the official stream deck plugin. my boujee hotkey method didn't work too well on 1.4 and competed with other keyboard presses, but the plugin is a dream and has been working smoothly so far, bonus with the named states. i love this update - thank you!
Does anyone know why I cant use any PNG or gif at all? none of the pictures I've tried have worked the app just doesn't seem the register they exis
Works great. Picked up my old stuff no problem. The only problem I seem to be experiencing is that the plugin for Stream Deck just decides it isn't working anymore at some point while I'm streaming. It'll be fine for maybe the first 60 minutes after going live and then - nope. I love that I can see the states on the Stream Deck keys, that's really great. Just dunno why it poops out. Would the number of states have anything to do with it? Maybe I have to many? I currently have 20 different states/emotions/sets of images.
I removed all my old shortcuts because I was using Alt + 'key'. I see below that Alt just broke and you're working on that. <3
Is there a guide for the stream deck plugin? I can't seem to get it to appear in the plugin list
Hello, please tell me how I can get the color to outline the png like it did in the 1.4 version? Also, the "transparent" version isn't actually transparent. It's gray and white squares in the background with the png itself. I'm incredibly frustrated as I already have to redo my entire stream layout from an earlier crash, and didn't expect to have to update veadotube mini on top of all that. Please help.
That's the neat part: You don't! The old version works still, and a lot of people are having some issues with the new version, independent of OS. It'll come around, but it's not something you should worry about instantly.
Heyo, I tried opening up the latest build (2.0) but my antivirus marked it as "suspicious file detected" when I opened the program, just wanna check if this is normal?
Oh no... I can't run the new version. My Linux is probably too old for that. The good news is that by the end of the month I should be able to make a new install of my OS (been meaning to anyway) and it should work then.
To linux users, if you run into the following error, your OS is probably too old as well. Don't try updating this, things are going to break badly.

that's my fault for keeping my kernel way too up to date and building against that AHSDHA i'll be building against older versions from 2.0a on
I was about to suggest to build it versionless if possible, but that works too.
new update is so awesome. im having issues. seems the state affects are just not working at all. dont know why.

Hey I have an Issue, so the thing is, Apparently the Alt Button is not working at all, I use that alot back then with the 1.4, is that some sort of thing you haven't checked?
i did check when i implemented it but it really just stopped working at some point </3 will be investigating! sorry for the inconvenience
Great update, but for some reason the motions when you set the image mode to pixel becomes really laggy in the new version
Worked fine on my old windows 64 bit and got a new windows 64 bit in November 2023 and got veadotube mini on it and it's lagged terribly and hasn't picked up any microphone input ever since, even when it's the only thing opened and microphone works fine everywhere else and I've installed all the suggested programs for issues.

Love this software!! Been using it for years for myself and done avatar commissions for others to use with it. I do have a suggestion, I'd like to use sound coming from a specific window instead of from my mic, is that something possible in the future or planned with the full release?

Works great! For those using OBS, just create a new game capture, open filters, add a chroma key and mess with the similarity slider :)

spout2 capture suddenly stopped working, I was able to use it perfectly, then I didn't stream for a few days, and when I came back, with 5 minutes left to start, this option no longer worked, spout stream was activated on veadotube and obs didn't have any different configuration, everything was exactly as it was when I used it a few days ago, but this capture option simply didn't want to work anymore, I had to use game capture with the green background filter, after the stream I tried reinstalling obs, then veadotube, even the plugin itself, but nothing helped

nope, I reinstalled the entire OS (clean installation) and it’s still there. I’ll try running windows version in crossover for now…
It works on my older macbook pro, but not the new one. Both fully updated. My new one, however, is one of the M2 versions. So I'm hoping that's not what the problem is since those issues tend to get ignored.

Hmm what if there was an option to let an external program be its active audio other than a mic? If I had one friend I would want them to be able to speak through one on my computer via detecting audio from an application.
